Matrix Attack

Matrix Attack screenshot

Matrix Attack is a partially-created Java game which I was working on in August 2005, and which features the familiar raining code from The Matrix film.  Red code streams upwards from the bottom of the screen, and the player must destroy each red stream by firing a green stream downwards to collide with it.

The game uses the actual raining code symbols seen in The Matrix film – I grabbed about ten stills from the DVD, from which I extracted the symbols.  They consist mainly of katakana characters, and the complete set of symbols is shown below:

When I can find some free time, I may continue developing Matrix Attack into a complete game (with scoring, lives, different levels of difficulty, etc).
