In April 2002, after listening to some of my friends playing their acoustic guitars, I was inspired to learn the guitar myself. I bought my first cheap Encore guitar later in 2002, and in 2004 I bought a much better Indie ID30 “Tree of Life Natural” electro-acoustic guitar (which was given a 5-star review by Total Guitar magazine in September 2003). In addition to playing the guitar in the traditional style, I have also used it to create beatless ambient music under the name of Slowspace, including my debut album, The Eternal Realm, in 2005. In August 2005, I composed a guitar arrangement for John Masefield’s poem “Sea Fever”. Here’s a video of me performing this piece in August 2009:
