I've used many chord explorers ... But this could very well be the best (at least out of those I've seen so far) ... I had a lot of help from it while searching for chord voicing names when writing transcriptions ... Kudos to Michael Hogg for writing it and making it freely available online |

A new tool in my toolbox: So, you’re playing a chord on the guitar, and you are making a chord chart for the keyboardist, but you don’t know what to call this chord. Here’s a solution . . . it even has an option where you can build the chord and it will tell you what that chord should be called in various root keys. |

I have tried most of the free chord finders on the web. This is my favourite. I would recommend it for the intermediate or advanced player. It is not cluttered with finger placements. You are shown the notes and their fret positions. With a click you can see other "voicings" or ways of playing the chord. Very intelligent, I think. Gives you a better understanding of how chords are constructed and how you can use both open an closed strings for different voicings. |

I like it ... Great tool! I've been developing my own chord construction diagrams as a learning aid over the past few years, but I think your Chord Explorer is better in many respects ... thanks for creating and sharing this tool. I'm also a software developer and I know how much work goes into a program like this. |

The chord explorer is a great and useful help. Did you ever think of extending it to 8 strings? There are lots of lap steelers who surely would appreciate that testing all those different 8string tunings. |

Needs to label chord components rather than note names; e.g. root, m3, 5th, 7th, -9, etc. |
